Emma Watson updates official website

Emma Watson has updated her official website today with news that she has already begun preparations for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which she will start filming this Feburary. Also noting her excitment about applying for college and the release of her new film, The Tale of Desperaux.

I'm currently trying to apply for uni, so reading lots and lots at home and starting to get very excited about the release of The Tale of Despereaux which is coming up in December. ALTHOUGH... I keep getting distracted as I have started re reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in preparation for the start of filming in February and can't put it down. Reading it for a second time has made it no less addictive.

Tom Felton talks 'Harry Potter' in new interview

In a new interview, Tom Felton spoke at length about Harry Potter, discussing his thoughts on filming Half-Blood Prince, his anticipation for doing Deathly Hallows, and more!

Feltbeats.com: Regarding the upcoming Harry Potter movie, Half-Blood Prince, we Felton Fans are extremely excited to finally see a movie with a more in-depth, rounded-out Draco. Were you happy to finally be able to better flesh out this character?

Tom: Yeah, sure. When David Yates dragged me [aside] at the beginning of it and said, “I have full faith in you,” yadda yadda, and I hope that you’re going to embrace the role and so forth. And I was fairly terrified. We did a read-through with Michael Gambon, and I was petrified at the thought of the final scene.

But after that, I guess I sort of learned a lot on the set, and David Yates was really my motivation. He was very, very, complimentary of everything he saw and very good with direction. He knew exactly what to say to get the results he wanted. And what the producers saw, they were very, very happy as well. And that sort of spurred me on even further. And, it was great fun. I really, really enjoyed it more than any other film, without a doubt. Sort of, embracing the role, if you will, and making the most of it.

Peter Pettigrew: a top-ten best fake death

The infamous return and escape of Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has made The Guardian's list of top-ten best fake deaths in literature.

In the third part of the Potter roman-fleuve, Peter Pettigrew pretends that Sirius Black has killed him, cutting off one of his own fingers to make it seem that the rest of him has been blasted to atoms. For 12 years he adopts the guise of Ron Weasley’s pet rat, Scabbers. But the severed digit gives him away.

David Heyman talks 'HBP' delay in new interview

In a recent interview with Comingsoon.net, David Heyman spoke more about the delay of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. As well as telling us that the film is complete, although they are adding one small change to it soon.

It's a shame and it's frustrating in a sense as any creative person," he continued. "It's nice to put what you've done behind you before you move onto the next and this is still lingering over us until July next year, but also, we'll have to take a week off shooting to do publicity, which is a little bit disruptive. It's not ideal but at the same time, I fully support it, because as I say, they give us the freedom to make these films, and they pay a lot of money.

He also added some insight into the process of making a Harry Potter film and dealing with Warner Brothers:

They (Warner Brothers) give us the money, they read a draft of the script. I choose the director, we make the film, they come and visit. We show them a cut of the film, they say they like it, they give us some notes, we make the changes that we want to make. We test screen it once and show it to them, and then the movie is released. They've been so supportive that one has to support... they needed it.

Comingsoon also spoke breifly to David Thewlis, who is currently collaborating with David Heyman on The Boy in Striped Pajamas, who mentioned that the romance between Lupin and Tonks is being set up for Deathly Hallows during Half-Blood Prince.

Robbie Coltrane talks 'Harry Potter' on red carpet
In a new interview with BBC News, actor Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid) discusses the upcoming two-part finale to the Harry Potter movie franchise and what he has been doing to pass the time.

"I'm actually producing these days. I've got three things on the go. I'm trying to knock one of them out before we start filming Potter seven in February. There's going to be downtime between film one and two. You know, they're shooting it in two parts, so there'll be a week or two in the middle."

Additionally, Coltrane sat down with Empire Online in a new video interview where he talks about, amongst other things, the flying motorbike scene in Deathly Hallows.
